Just found this spot while looking for a quiet place to work for a few hours one morning. Really love the space with room to spread out. Knowledgable staff with some excellent sources coffee (bought a new bag to take home and try) and had an absolutely epic avocado toast.
Black Lab Coffee might be a contender for the best coffee shop in the Greater Saint Louis area. If not number one, it is most definitely solidified in the top 3. Black Lab offers a simple menu, simple seating, and simple pricing for an excellent and easy going cafe experience. The owner meticulously selected the beans for a smooth and delicious coffee experience. Don’t forget to try his homemade cookies. If you’re hungry, the Toasts here make for a great snack/meal. It also might be the first time I eat at a cafe and truly enjoy the food. Come to Black Lab if you want a real cafe experience.
Best coffee shop in STL! Love the vibe and the building it’s in is awesome. There is free parking just north and it’s a quick walk in! We had a cappuccino, Americano, and a cinnamon roll. All three were top class!
A great spot that feels secret with yummy food and great coffee! The vibe is hip - it’s happening and has a creative energy buzz and with lots of people working. There’s a courtyard area as well. Friendly staff who knows their stuff with and a community feel. My go-to is a simple iced oat latte. Highly recommend the avocado toast - it’s on thick, soft, seeded artisan bread with pepitas, feta and a bit of chili!
First Stop, Fuel, or in our Case, #COFFEE Black Lab Coffee Shop is located in TechArtista's co-working spot in University City. It’s a huge space to work or hang out. It’s colorful with natural light over the central bar area. Its aesthetic is modern and colorful with decor of contemporary art and plants. Their expertly brewed coffee is sourced from a variety of roasters around the world for some rich and flavorful cups. The baristas are friendly, always ready to recommend a new brew or customize your drink. In addition to coffee, there are some baked goods by founder, Tommy Meyer. The service was attentive and quick. We stopped in for a coffee and cookie before some birthday festivities. We were able to do a little work as well. There are plugs everywhere so you’ll have plenty of juice. Black Lab hosts many workshops, networking sessions, and art exhibitions so follow them for some professional growth, community engagement and social interaction.
A top coffee spot in St Louis. Vibes are perfect for a great Cortado and conversation or knocking out a project with amazing seating and atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Easy access and parking. Bike friendly and perfect place to start/finish a ride or run.
Great new coffee shop in University City off of the loop! Fun atmosphere: kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and lively. Lots of space and seating. Seems like a good study spot. We live close by so I will definitely be coming back!
Great atmosphere! I love all the colors and the inspiring vibe. There are lots of seating options to choose from—whether you prefer a soft, cozy seat or a taller, bar-height spot. There’s even a workspace that’s super soothing. I had my usual vanilla latte, and it was delicious—no complaints! It came in a glass instead of a mug, but that’s not a big deal. The music was awesome too. I didn’t even bother putting on my own playlist because it felt like they were already playing my favorite songs. Perfect spot for working with others or just getting things done solo.
The manger, Caleb, shoveled my car out of the snow that had buried me into my parking spot. It was a total random act of kindness that meant so much to me, especially since it was 15 degrees outside and I was wearing professional clothing trying to get to work. I have been in a few times and enjoyed the coffee and food every time (especially the avocado toast)!! Will definitely be stopping by more.
Cute coffee shop with a great vibe! I believe they make their own syrups and pastries also. The workers are really nice and there’s space to do work. The latte I got was a bit weak even though I asked for extra ice, however.
